The icon of media player in the quick launch seems to disapear each time i
boot.
Its not getting removed from the quick launch but the icon changes like the
icon can't be found.
If i go to properties of the shortcut and change icon, i just have to click
ok to get the icon back.

My Quick Launch menu seems to duck and dive in the taskbar - so now I've got
the single "show desktop" and that's it. Bugged it about a month ago :o)

Have you noticed Andre that the entire desktop seems to be built up in
layers to some degree? Not so much in 5342 as they've fixed the "fade from
black to desktop" bit, but in 5308 you could see individual bits of the
taskbar especially loading - the taskbar, then the Start orb, then the quick
launch, *then* the icons and then the Glass transparency...

....hated it when the Start orb didn't even load up at times... just a grey
block! :-o

I know what you mean, I remember in earlier builds, I think 5270, the orb
would go at the top of the screen, the back to the bottom then the entire
taskbar would appear. There is still an issue with setting new desktop wall
papers, the taskbars translucency does not adjust to the changes, so you see
reminants of the last wall paper used.

One "classic Vista moment" was being able to have maximised windows open in
the background totally covering the wallpaper (like Messenger for example),
have another dialog in front of it, and you could see the wallpaper through
the transparency, even though it was the maximised application!

Thankfully they fixed this but came back a "no-repro"... :os

That would be the Desktop Composition Engine that has been written about
so much...

Well it sucks at times!

Its not hidden, just the icon is wrong.
For example, if u remove an application, and the icon is still in start
menu, it changes to some other icon ... like the icon cant be found.
Thats what im having with media player, i see the icon, but its the wrong
icon.
