The Primate

The other evening Vista started refusing to start up, freezing on the
progress bar. Safe boot works fine.

So, I booted to the DVD and ran System Repair (name could be wrong). After
about 20 mins it was still running so I let it continue. At the point one
of my kids rebooted the computer. That's fine I thought, I'll just fix this
when they go to bed. Once again I rebooted from DVD and started up system
repair. I picked up my install drive but told me it was from an
incompatible version of Windows.

What to do from here?

A reinstall :o(

OMG....I didn't want to hear that.

Thanks Zack.......must say I am disappointed. I had Vista up and running
and was just starting to use it for day to day things so I might understand
it better. Regardless of all the negative hype I expect it to be a great OS
when released.

I guess I'll wait till the next release.
