A 2400 socet A system came to me with mega problems, turned out to be
the HS fan not running making the AK77-600GN board shut down all at
59 deg C.

I got it to work pretty well in most areas except for picture
intensive and video of games refusing to work (usually locks up)
unless the hardware acceleration on vid card is virtually fully
dissabled.

All else seems OK I have re-installed DX and it will pass all tests
but only with the vid card acceleration dropped to nearly nothing, if
tried with the acceleration on dxdiag will lock up also.

All other hardware works fine, no viruses, no spyware, temps OK, Vid
drivers rolled back /re-installed and different versions tried all do
the same thing.

I give up being out of the loop for a while and have no idea why this
is happening.

Any ideas fellas ?

You probably should check the fans when starting a new system for
the first time. I always do after opening the box for
maintenance/upgrading/whatever.

You mean the FX5200? I have a PCI version. It's slow but the
hardware acceleration works fine on my other Socket A MSI mainboard
(backup system not in service).

You might try reinstalling Windows.

Good luck.
