52% then nothing....

I'm attempting to save my completed video to my computer however twice now
it's got to 52% and stalled. All that's happened after that is the minutes
remaining have steadily increased. I've left it for a few hours each time
and its done nothing but the previous. Any ideas anyone?
 
When saving a movie to my hard disk (in the high quality option) at 80% it stops, I let the progtram work for about half an hour more but there is no improvment, anyone could tell me what's going on?
