Ok so I'm not a net geek and I need a little help. The other day I was on
yahoo and some little freak of nature got mad at me and took my password and
locked my account. After that, I am not able to acess either yahoo or myspace.
These are the only websites I am having trouble with. It just gives me the
504 'myspace/yahoo' gateway timeout error. Is there a fix to this?? I have a
dell win xp with dial up aol. I am planning on getting high speed soon, would
that make a difference? No errors ever happend untill he hacked my pc. So
what am I to do?? HELP!!

The only "fix" is to convince Yahoo! and MySpace that your accounts were
stolen. If you can't prove that, your accounts are history.

Well I figured that, but I am talking about even acessing their site at all.
I can't go to their website at all. when I type it in there thats when I get
the 504 error. Sorry, I should have been a little more clear.

Four things to try:

1. Delete your TIF and History folders completely:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

2. Check your Cookies folder and delete any cookies that relate to the
sites in question.

3. Check your Hosts file as per this article:
Problems Using Internet Explorer with Incorrect Hosts File
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q219843

More info on the Hosts file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm

4. Got to a Command prompt (Start...Programs...Accessories) and type in:

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit Enter.
