5.1 speakers dilema

I bought a laptop last week due to my computer getting meshed(pun) in a flood. The laptop bought only has one audio jack. I have though about getting a soundblaster external sound card just so i can use the speakers. I heard of some sort of pre-amp that plugs into the audio jack and breaks down the music into 5.1. anyone know of it or what it's called.

Sorry, I just had me pills ... I don't think you need a pre-amp as it is already pre-amped ... Floppy is the man on this stuf if nowbody else can help.

They'll have kicked him out of the pub by now, unless they got a lock-in.

If the lappie does not have 5.1 in-built, then no matter what you add on the outside is going to help ... unless you can find an external USB 5.1 sound card.
