Ok. Thanks. So the Version 2 is not better as the 5.1. I'm using? Therefore I had not to change to the offered 2 Version? Sorry it is all a bit confusing for me.

version 5.1 refers to the version of windows you are using not movie maker,
a little further down the list you should have the version number of movie
maker.

Hi Rudolph,

Movie Maker is either Version 1 or Version 2 The dialogue box that
displays the version is badly formatted and gives you information that is
not required...you cannot run Movie Maker 2 on anything other than Windows
XP

Windows XP is now at version 5.1 This version number is not in any way
related to the version number of Movie Maker Version 2.

If that's true, then how come my version of Movie Maker is different form the one in the Microsoft Interactive Training? I can't find the record button that the tutorial exhibits!

I'm not familiar with that tutorial, but the answer provided
by John Kelly is absolutely correct.

Hi there,

I can't help you on that. But I can assure you that there are just
two major version numbers for Movie Maker...1 & 2 There are
incremental changes made to Movie Maker 2 and its now up to
2.0.3312.0, at last on my machines.
