5 1/2 floppy?????

hard drive is only registering 5 1/2 floppy as the a
drive. in bios setup it shows 3 1/2. have checked fdd (as
was suggested by someone) also changed the floppy drive
to a new one but still no luck. any ideas?

It reads like the onboard FDD controller is disabled in the
BIOS under integrated peripherals. There are many different
menus for the different BIOS, so it may not be exactly the
same.
