Ok, I was under the impression that 4gb of mem was a limitation of a 32-bit
environment. Over at winsupersite.com, the 32-bit version of vista ultimate
is 16gb+. How much mem can the 32-bit version of vista ultimate hold? And was
my A+ instructor wrong?

Actually, 64-bit Vista can handle up to 128 GB of physical RAM. All 32 bit
versions of Windows Vista have a limitation of 4 GBs.
Certain Editions of Vista x64 have a restriction on how much RAM they can
handle:

Home Basic x64 - 8 GBs
Home Premium x64 - 16 GBs
Business x64 - 128+ GB
Enterprise x64 - 128+ GB
Ultimate x64 - 128+ GB
