Okay.

I have profiled 35mm negative film with no problem.

Today I tried to profile a Provia 100 IT8 target (film), just the same as
above and
it will not write the file.....

"film.icc"

and it gives me no error message.

Has this happened to anyone else?

What causes vuescan not to write the ICC file ??

This is a result of a bug in Vuescan. I have corresponded w/ Ed Hamrick
about it. The problem is that Vuescan puts up the wrong kind of dialog
to be used to indicate where to save the file. If the string in the
".icc" file points to a non-existant directory, Vuescan will silently
fail to write the file, and if it points to an existing file, Vuescan
will overwrite that file without asking.

You need to edit the string directly (by typing in that tiny tiny box!)

You mean as opposed to clicking on the browse button to indicate the file?
