Hi all how hard or how easy is it to find a motherboard for a 486 cpu? I
found one here on hard rubbish week but the mobo has green corrosion here
and there and the AT keyboard wont work but everything else of it is fine.

I like the case too its got a turbo button to bump it up from 20 to 40 on
the display

Are there any for sale on the web?

Thanks
GK

Look up the MB on the internet and see if you can still find a manual. Older
boards often had to be hard-set for various jumper configurations such as
CPU speed, voltage, etc. (It's probably pointless if you don't know these
settings)

I have an old 486 CPU in my junk parts box. You're welcome to it - but
before you go blowing up both the MB and the CPU, take a few minutes to
figure out whether or not it's even going to work for you.

Freecycle's good for that sort of thing. Might not be where you are
though. 486s hahve negative value in many countries now.
