Dear All:
After installing Office 2007, Windows Live One Care, uploading 175 .jpg's,
install of Windows and HP updates, I deleted every possible "ad" out of the
comp. I have nothing more on the computer yet. How can I only have 54% of
HD left? Has anyone heard of this? I defrag/clean up files...what there is
of them.

HP's only recommendation is to restore comp to original with the Recovery
Disc. Could the HD have an inherent problem? What do you all recommend?
Thank you in advance for any help.

P.S. I was actually contemplating purchase of my own Vista Home Prem, wipe
the HD and start over? Or, new comp. from somewhere else? Or, give up
altogether?

Please advise size of HDD?

Dear Bob J:
Thank you for responding.
Info I should have given before:

Intel(R)Core(TM)2duoT7250
2GB DDR2 System Memory (2Dimm)
120GB 5400RPMSATA Hard Drive

(From "my own poor memory) it says 1.8GB of D drive is free and that I need
to compress. I cannot find that info now.

I have gone to Device Mgr., checked all available in HD Policies tab. It
will not stay checked.

I chose "Other Options" in Clean-Up and cleaned up the Restore points, but
do not know commands to change settings to use only 10GB of space.

However, at this moment, my capacity has increased to 66%. Is there a way
to delete all the HP stuff, and just use Windows? My Windows Experience
Index number has dropped to 3.1. Used to be 3.4.

Thank you, thank you for any advice.

Dear Bob J,

Apparently, my problem is solved. First, I used TWO HP Recovery Discs (one
inoperative) to "recover" the comp. Next, I deleted every advertisement,
every program I did not need. Thirdly, I purchased full version of Win Vista
Home Prem., installed it over existing same O/S. Now my computer has 80GB's
of 111GB's. All seems to be working very well. Much faster, seems very
stable. I am quite happy. Pricey, but worth it.
