Hi all,

I am having a problem with vs.net 2002 that when I try to update a web reference I get a 407 error. I have tracked down the problem to my proxyoverride (proxy exceptions for IE) registry key being longer than 256 characters long. Is this a bug or is it supposed to be like this. I believe IE 6 can haddle upto approx 930 characters but vs.net starts having problems after 256 characters.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so is there a patch/fix. It's just annoying having to change the setting everytime I either want to access the intranet or do some development work.

cheers

This was fixed in a QFE. The QNumber is 838468. Please contact MS support
and ask them for this QFE.
