I need a freeware program which allows me to print 4 pages of a
Word-document on 1 page.
Thank you

Otto asked: print 4 pages of a Word-document on 1 page.

If you have MSWord there is a brochure template that will provide for a
landscape view and the paper can be folded into three sections with the
printing showing up on outside covers and inside columns.

Perhaps the word processors recommended in this group allow for columns or
tables then with a small size font the page can be set up either into 4
columns or A table with 2 columns. (p1 & p2) another table with 2 columns
for p3 & p4)

Abiword will do 4 columns on a landscape setup. I just experimented with a
word.doc Copied text and pasted into the pre readied columns on a landscape
page in Abiword and it would make a brochure style. The font has to be a
small closely spaced type.

If you plan it out the brochure could be 2 pages and when you print the
page goes through the printer twice therefore printed on both sides then
there would be 2 columns on each side, fold the paper in the middle of the
landscape setup.

NOTE: I know this is a freeware group but I am only assisting a person
using the program they already have. I know its not a freeware solution,
but that is beside the point when a person is in need!

MS Word can print upto 16 pages to a page, anything word can open it can
print this way.

To do this follow these simple directions:

1) Load your document
2) Select "File"-->"Print"
3) In the box that pops up, bottom right hand side is a box called
"Zoom", in this section is a drop down "Pages per Sheet", in there
select from 1 to 16 pages of the document per sheet to print.
4) Scale as neccessary (totally optional)
5) Print

I hope this helps.
