I set up a home network using XP Pro. My laptop has a
wireless card and sharing files, drives, and printers
within the network was working well. The network is set
up through a wireless hub.

When I went to work, I plugged into my NIC card (as
opposed to the wireless) and was able to connect to the
internet (I did not need to log in to the network at
work).

When I went back home, I inserted the wireless card.
Although I was able to connect to the internet, I was not
able to connect to the home network.

Each time I connect to either network, I get a message
that states, 'duplicate name exists on the network'.

I am hoping that there is a simple fix or setting that I
have missed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Change the computer name.

.
I can only think of two things I ran into before. One,
try changing the name of the network to something else.
If there happens to be another wireless system nearby
with the same name, it wont know which one to connect to.
Second, try changing (using) different computer names. I
did the same thing. In my laptop, I had a network
connection named _____work, and another named ______home.
Hope this helps
