Apologies if this post is triplicated, but my first and 2nd attempts
have not shown up on my computer, despite my having re-set this NG.
Third time lucky?

I do not want to enter Set Up, but am just curious to see exactly what
appears on the screen during boot-up, as it might be useful one day!
I remember being able to do it in Win98se but cannot remember how.
Can it be done in XP Home, please?

Thanks
Kate

Hit the Pause/Break key when the P.O.S.T. screen appears during Bootup
During the Power On Self Test (POST) and boot up cycle prior to the loading
of the OS the Pause/Break key is functional. It will pause the boot cycle at
almost any point.

This is really handy if you are trying to troubleshoot a hardware problem
(such as IRQ assignment for PnP devices) as the screen usually flashes by
too fast to read everything.

It's a pretty trivial tip, but it's helped me a number of times. I hope this
helps someone else out!
