The DVD recorder's documentation (or probably even the box it came in)
will tell you. Odds are pretty good that it requires an IDE connection.

Why on earth do you need all three?! It's pretty pointless - a DVD burner
can also burn to CDs. And, someone knowledgeable correct me if I'm wrong,
but a friend, who's the sales manager for a moderately sized I.T company
told me that more than one recordable device can cause problems.

If it was me, I'd ditch the CD-RW, set the DVD burner to master and have the
DVD-ROM as slave. The CD-RW drive is now superfluous.

I think he should ditch the DVD-ROM drive, since the DVD Recorder will do
the same job. However the CD burner is usually faster at burning CDs than
the DVD recorder.

You should be able to hook up 4 IDE devices. If you have
more than 4, you will need a controller card which will
allow you to hook up 4 more IDE devices. I have not
had any trouble with Promise controller cards.

IDE PCI controller card, you might consider getting a card
that supports RAID. RAID (Redundant Array of Independent
[Inexpensive] Disks) is a means to backup your data
automatically.

Ironic that you suggest this. I do have my system setup with
a Fasttrac TX4000, 4 HDD's, raid array 0+1. My burner and
dvd are the only things attached to my IDE ports. What a
performance jump along with the redundancy.
