3DMARK2001 score... would this be right?

I think I should be getting higher marks than this!

Specs

Abit AN7 Nforce
XP3000+ stock
120GB SATA HD
1024MB DDR Twinmos (Dual channel) 2x 512mb
Radeon 9800 Pro
CAT 4.1
SB Live Value
3Dmark Res 1024x768 32bit
V sync off
No o/c

Any ideas?
 
Maybe alittle low, have you turned down your settings in control panel?

Im getting about 17.1K in 3dmark2k1 and about 5.5k in 2dmark2k3.
 
What oS.
I went from 12 800 ish to 14.5k with the same machine when I changed from
Win ME to WinXP proffesional.
XP2500+stock
Radeon 9800 pro
2x256MB DDR
Abit NF7-s ver 2.0
Onboard sound
default 3DMark 2001 SE benchmark settings.
CAT drivers 3.9 or 4.2 result about the same under WinXP.


One thing you should check is if you have any custom 3D settings in the ATI
control panel, as they will apply to the 3DMark tests also. Set them to
Application preference.
Discovered that when I couldn't account for a 2000 point loss ;-)
 
Score sounds a bit low to me too, for that rig. I can't recall if the
3000+ XP is a 166 FSB part? Or 200 FSB?

FWIW, I score about 14200-14300 on a 2600+/266, running o/c at 16x139
(2.22 ghz). The low FSB is holding me back a bit.
 
Hmm,

I get 15,000 ish with the following setup

xp2600+ barton cpu stock speed
512mb pc2700 ram in dual channel mode stock speed
radeon 9800 pro stock speed latest drivers
audigy 2 zs pci latest drivers
asus a7n8x-e deluxe nfoece 2 400 mobo.

was thinking of getting a 3000+ cpu but mite not bother unless its
going to give me a good performance boost.

The change between a 2700 and 3000 seems marginal at best, even though these
are prolly for hardware at stock speeds (OC ing will obviously spread the
results out a bit in some cases, but you would still get 15,000ish with a
3000 assuming no OC).

Looks like all you would gain is bragging rights. For some this is worth a
fair bit tho, as is number of light-up-fans in the rig :)

settings in control panel set to quality
 
Going to change a few settings ect...see what I can get

Y-Grl.....Using XP Pro and custom setting in CP... App Pref and set at
quality.

Might try o/c too zmike6 ;-)

When you're on 3DMark's web site, you can compare your score to those of the
same speed, video card, etc. My score in 3DM-2001SE is 16850 and in 3DM-03
it's 6452 with a P4 1.8a and 9800 Pro. If I want to see how my system
compares with others, I do a compare search and the results pop up. If I
want to see what increase I could expect by upgrading to a P4 2.4c, I look
up scores with the 9800 Pro and then tell it to use a range of 2400 to 2600
mHz, for example. You can narrow or broaden the search quite a bit.
For 3DM-2001SE, the Cat. 3.7 or 3.10 drivers will probably give you the
highest scores.

For one thing the 133 FSB on that system/CPU is hurting you to some
extent. I have a 2600+ running overclocked to 16x139 (2.22 ghz) and
score about 14200-14300 on a non-overclocked 9800 pro. If my
motherboard supported a 166 or 200 FSB, I imagine I could score 16000+
or so at 2.2 ghz CPU frequency.
