Hi all,
I'm new here and I'm looking for help :-)
I have upgraded my graphic card(sapphire radeon hd4670 512) and psu (generic
550w)
Everything was fine for 2-3 weeks then something
happened to the computer hardware and now i get
slow downs when playing games.
(Grid, PES2009, Dirt Demo)
I have reinstalled windows from scratch, but nothing.
tested win7, same thing.
I'm using Ati's Catalyst 9.9 (alsotried previous one to no avail)
GPU is not getting too hot, i've checked with gpu-z.
Asus pc probe reports no problems with voltages and
temperatures.
Where do you think the problem is?
What should i look for?
psu on its last leg?
ask me any question, i'll try to answer asap.
Thanx in advance.

Locate the web site of the maker(s) of your hard drives. Since these
arre 'mechanical" devices, they can "wear-out." Once you found the
web site, locate their hard drive test utilities.

Perhaps try Start:Run and type "dxdiag" and check all
acceleration settings are working ?

Here's some more things you can check..

Right click My Computer and go to Properties. Look how much memory it says
your computer has. I had 1GB in a computer at home and installed Sims 3 for
my Girlfriend. She was playing pretty good, but one day everything got slow.
Took like 20 - 25 minutes just to save! Whole game was extremely slow. Turns
out one of the memory sticks went bad, so we only had 512MB now.

Also probably good to open the left side of your computer case while it's on
(or look inside if you have a window) and see if the fans are running. Maybe
the fan on the CPU is covered in dust and slowed down or not running at all.
I had an older AMD CPU once and it actually underclocked itself so it
wouldn't overhat.. so instead of a 1.4Ghz it was only running at 1.1Ghz.

BFG's are great video cards and they have a lifetime warranty. My friend
bought one off eBay which either didn't work when he got it or shortly
after. BFG replaced it with another for him, then I bought it off him
sometime later.. it's still working today.
