is there a freeware 3D program similar to RHINOCEROS where there is
modeling and rendering is combined in one program?

Blender 3D is arguably the finest freeware but it does have
limitations and is, as are all 3D apps, somewhat quirky. blender.org

hamaPatch is a spline based modeler that will render to p.o.v. but is
growing increasingly dated in the rendering department and doesn't
include support for 3.5 geocities.com/Tokyo/Ginza/6625/

Nurbana is a nurbs modeler, as is rhinoceros, that is under
development. nurbana.cx The rendering engine will include photon
mapping and the author, a college student, has a nice image on the
home page. This one is possibly a few years away from completion.

Last time I looked, Rhinoceros had a weak renderer. Amazing booleans
though.
