Hi, I just installed Call of Duty 2 and I'm getting a Directx error - Direct
x encountered an unrecoverable error. check the directx faq for possible
solutions. I went through the faq. Directx has been installed. I think
that I may not have the correct video driver. It's requesting the 3d
hardware accelerator card. Is this something that I need to purchase or can
download it. I believe what I have currently is the intel graphics meida
accelerator v6.14. Thanks for any help.

Your video card - from who: ATI, nVidia, or built into the motherboard, or a
different manufacturer.

You download the latest drivers from the appropriate video card
manufacturer. If it's built into the motherboard then you get the drivers
from the motherboard manufacturer. Also, if it's built in then it may not
fully 3D capable.

Hi,
Make sure that you have DirectX 9.0c installed as you will need this
for Call of Duty 2 to work. Also what graphics card are you using? If the
graphics card isn't good enough to run Call of Duty 2 then you will have to
buy a new one. I was able to run Call of duty 2 using an ATI Radeon 9200SE
but thats a rubbish card so don't buy it as it is very old and will not play
new games very well. I am currently using an nvidia GeForce 7600GT which runs
it perfectly but thats about £120. Tell me your budget and I will recommend
one to you if you are going to buy a new one.
