I'm tring to put together a graph(s) for 5 large air conditioners wit
temperature and humidity on each. I'm having a problem visualizin
what kind of graph to make and how to make it. In excel, I have lai
out 31 date fields down the left side. Across the top, is Unit1Temp
UnitTHum, Unit2Temp, Unit2Hum, and so on for the 5 units. At th
bottom of each of these columns is an average of the 31 days o
operation. I was thinking of a line graph with time (the 31 dat
fields) across the bottom, and temperature down the left, a line fo
each unit's Temperature. A second simular graph for the Humidity o
each unit.

This has become much more complex than I thought it would ever get.
Did I put the excel sheet together right? What other visual option
are there?

Any Help would be greatly appreciated

Chris -

Shouldn't be so complicated. Your data should look like this, right?

T1 H1 T2 H2 T3 H3 etc
date1 .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
date2 .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
date3 .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
date4 .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
date5 .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
etc ............................

Keep the top left cell blank to help Excel. Select this range except for
the averages in the last row. Use the chart wizard to make either a Line
chart or an XY Scatter chart, with the series in columns.

Your result will have dates across the bottom, and both temperature and
humidity on the same left hand axis scale. If the scale doesn't work
with both types of data, and you want temperature on one side and
humidity on the other, decide which one you want on the right hand axis.
Double click on one of these (say it's humidity), and on the Scale tab,
select Secondary. Then without doing anything else first, select the
next (humidity) series, and press the F4 key to repeat. Do this for all
the matching (humidity) series.
