I have recently set up my laptop and an old 98 computer to my home network.
My virus program is downloaded to my first desktop computer. All the
connections are through this one attached to a modem wireless router. Do I
need to buy seperate virus program or does my original one cover all 3
computers. If it does, how do I get it on them as the disc I have is a few
years old and it's been updated through the internet to computer 1 for about
2 years now

This will depend on the licensing of the product you are using.
Check with the anti virus vendor as regards your licensing terms,
they will also be able to supply additional/replacement media for you.

I contacted them and they said I'd have to purchase another product under
another email address. I'm a little dissapointed as I thought as I connect to
the internet through the one router I'd be covered. Would you say, I'd
definately need to add virus program to my laptop which runs windows firewall
and aol safety messure's too, ie spyware and block up control

You need A/V and spyware apps on each computer, there are good free apps
available for each.
I would stay away from anything AOL offers, their spyware scanner is a joke.

Pardon my jumping in....

You need good, regularly updated, antivirus software on *all* computers you
use (unless they're Macs or *nix boxes). It doesn't matter that you're on a
network.
