Has anyone else had trouble with the 360 controller? I can't get it to work
on Vista or XP. On Vista, the software won't install at all. It unpacks
itself, starts the install, and an error message pops up saying there is no
space left to install, and to free up more space. As I have about 25 GB
free, I don't really think this an issue. Also, I'm using the Datel Play &
Charge Kit, not the Microsoft one, and not the wired controller, which might
explain why it won't work on XP. Software installs fine, but the XP can't
install the drivers.

Are you talking about the Actual Xbox 360 Controller? or the 360 Controller
designed for Windows?

The hardware is the same. The difference is that the one sold for Windows
comes
with Windows drivers.

I'm using a wireless controller, the Datel play & charge kit, and the
software downloaded from the Microsoft site.

My understanding is that the play and charge kit doesn't allow you to send
signals through the USB cable, just power to the controller. Lame, I know, I
got one too thinking I could use it to make the controller work on my PC.
You have to get a wired 360 controller in order to use the drivers and make
it work on your windows machine.
