3582 Tape Library

Hi,

I've looked everywhere, read all the documentation I can find and even
tried to speak to IBM but can't get a definitive answer so hopefully
usenet will be my saviour...

....Is the IBM TotalStorage 3582 Tape library robotic (to auto-switch
tapes)?

Thanks for any info anyone can give.

The 3582, is a 24 slot library with up to 2 LTO drives, originaly made by
ADIC (called Scalar 24)

I think none of these do auto-switch. They have to be told by software
to switch tapes and which tape to switch to. On the other hand any
tape-library can do this under software control, since otherwise it
would not be a tape library, but just a tape drive and some tape
holders.
