Hello there,
Previously on I windows XP I was able to lower my
resoloution to 320x240, which works great when I display
movies and tv episodes from my computer on my tv. I
recently updated to windows 2000 and I can't seem to go
lower than 640x480 resoloution all of a sudden and now my
movies and episodes don't look as good.

I have installed the correct driver for my monitor and
while that creates more resoloutions I can switch to, I
still can't go lower than 640x480.

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you in advance,
Jeremy

Check with the manufacturer to see whether they have a W2k driver for
the device that will support that low resolution.

I have a Sun Microsystems 21" monitor. They dont provide
drivers for their monitors for some reason. I did somehow
find a driver for my model on of those drivers sites that
have most everything and I got the specific model of my
monitor showing in Display ---> Settings

It's usually the videocard driver that's in question, rarely a monitor
driver. If the video controller is integrated on the mainboard, the
video controller driver would be part of the driver set that came with
the board or machine; if it isn't there, the manufacturer's website
would have it if one exists for W2k. If you have a separate video card,
then try that card's CD or manufacturer. Generally only a W2k driver
will work well.

Thank you for your help. I remember now on a previous
nvidia driver (differant to what I'm using now) I could
switch down to 320x240 within the nvidia settings.

I will investigate finding a better video card driver now.
