i say that i have the 32 bit one because in display

Color depth has nothing to do with the 32- or 64-bit versions of XP. It's
pretty much guaranteed you have the 32-bit version; if you spent what you'd
need for the hardware for the 64-bit version as well as the 64-bit version
of XP, you'd know it.

Yes, I am aware that there is a 64 bit version of pro,
but since the OP said she had HE, it is not relevent.
BTW, a computer with the 64 bit version can now be had for under $3,500.00
US.

Where can I find if I have a 32 bit or a 64 bit Windows
XP Home Edition?
Thanks.
Lisa

Home only comes in 32 bit, but follow the link provided below for more
information the 64 bit version of XP.
Click on the link below, or copy and paste the link into the address box
if using the web based newsgroup.
XP 32 bit or 64 bit?

No, you're mixing up two unrelated things. You're looking at
color depth, which has nothing to do with how many bits the
processor handles at once (which is what the question is about)

But you almost certainly do have a 32-bit edition. Nobody has
64-bit hardware and software without knowing it.

It's just an FYI

Yes, those computers are a couple thousand more than a 32-bit versions. I
just checked.

Lisa, like most here, is using a web based email reader and the search
capability is poor in them to say the least . I really wish everyone would
go to a regular program to read newsgroups (Outlook Express and many others)
and stay away from the "Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000" reader.

She also probably won't even read these replies to her message or send a
response if she does see it.

Just checked what? That you can find computers for less?
I can buy a brand new computer for under $300, but I would not want to use
it.
We just purchased 2 Pentium 4 2.5GHz computers running 32 bit XP PRO
for $4,800 each so using your logic I can say that the 64 bit version is
cheaper then the 32 bit versions because I checked and found a cheaper one.
$3,500 for a good workstation is nothing.
