"Note: If you're confused about whether you should download the 32-bit patch
or the 64-bit patch, you need the 32-bit. The 64-bit patch is for
ultra-expensive Intel Itanium-based computers, and you would have noticed
plunking down about $20,000 or more for your PC if you happened to have
purchased one of these."

If you have to ask, you don't have 64-bit.

How do i learn if my XP is 3 or 64 bit, before download
a patch?

By searching this group. This is an FAQ and is answered on a daily basis.
Don't be so lazy - see link one in my signature.

You have the 32 bit edition of XP. There's a version of XP that's 64 bit,
but it only runs on the Intel Itanium processor (think Pentium on steroids,
and growth hormone). This configuration would be found in extremely high-end
workstations - machines used for mechanical engineering, 3D animation, video
editing, etc. You would know if you had such a machine - being that they
START around $3,000 (the HP's, for instance).

Thanx for the info. I was simply quoting from the article, which seemed to
be written by an MS mvp..
Anyway, it's still just about as relevant ;-)
