32 MINUTES to copy 56 gigabytes?

I copied a 56 gigabyte file from one hard drive to another hard drive, and it
took 32 minutes. Does this seem normal?

Thw two hard drives were WD 200 gigabytes with the 8 megabyte cache. These were
attached to the Promise card that is included with these drives. One was set up
as a master, the other as a slave.

Should I reconfigure the slave as a master on the secondary channel on the
Promise card?

This is on a P4 2.6 gigahertz on an Asus p4pe motherboard.

I think it's about 33mb/sec. Sounds about right.
If they were setup on different channels, probably would take 1/2 the time.

If that will be your normal use (copy from one drive to the other), yes. If
not, don't bother.
