You have to know what your hardware is; what
motherboard or model and make of computer, and
what make and model central processor (CPU) is
in it. If you don't know, you probably have a
32-bit CPU. Most people would know if they have
an AMD64 or Intel EM64T CPU.

Hello,

From Windows XP:

- Click start
- Right-click My Computer
- Click Properties

Under Computer, if it says you have an AMD64 processor, that means you could
run Vista 64.

However, even if you do have an AMD 64 processor, I don't recommend running
the 64-bit Vista.
