Is it possible to set a GPO so that if users don't log off
and their PC stays inactive for X minutes it locks and
then they will need a supervisor with a password to unlock
it?

Thanks for any info
Chris

I tried that and the user can unlock it with his/her
password. Is there a way to set the password just for the
screen saver?

Thanks
Chris

I work for a collection agency with 120 users.
The users login then clock-in with a link on their desktop.
There's a problem with them clocking in then going for a
20-30 min break or wondering around and talking. So if
they leave their station for X amount of time they will
need to find a manager to unlock their workstation.

Ah yes so you want to train them to go off and talk for 25 mins, come back,
wiggle the mouse, and go off again to talk about how rotten their employer
is.

There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioural problems.

You are right about that

In our agency, our screensaver is set to go off after 3 minutes and the user
has to unlock the computer with user name and password.

We discovered employees using different techiniques to keep "activity" going
while not at the computer. My favorite had to be the person with one of
those plastic birds that swing up and down. Well that user had the beak
hitting the space bar on each downflap. The computer never locked.

But if you this is your only recourse, I would post to
microsoft.public.scripting,vbscript. I am sure they could help with a good
script.
