3 PCI Modems in one PC

Would there be any problem with fitting 3 PCI (not software!) modems
to one PC?

This is one of those "it depends" situations. What are the 3 modems going
to be used for? Will they be used at the same time? Will you be using them
for other functions such as voicemail/answering machine? Hardware and
driver wise it should work. OS will be a factor here as well. Win9X/ME will
be more of a problem than NT/2K/XP or Linux/UNIX. What other devices in the
system? Three seperate phone lines?

My Comms server has 2 and we make industrial fax servers with 16 modems by
using PCI cards with 8 modems on each. I've seen a 19" rack mount chassis
designed to take 20 PCI faxmodems. So 3 should not be a problem.
