I am running Windows 2000 w/ SP3. I installed an upgrade to IE6. Since then I have experienced 3 major issues! 1)Add/Remove Programs no longer launches (2)Windows Explorer in not functional (3)Folder views will not save, they revert back to an Icon view no matter what you select!

PLEASE HELP! I would do a reinstall or repair or uninstall but I can't even get to the Add/Remove to do that!

Assistance is apprecaited!

I am running Windows 2000 w/ SP3. I installed an upgrade to IE6.
Since then I have experienced 3 major issues!
1)Add/Remove Programs no longer launches

Try to Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter:)
control appwiz.cpl
(2)Windows Explorer in not functional

If the previous command doesn't let you repair IE this one might:
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance

(3)Folder views will not save, they revert back to an Icon view
no matter what you select!

Try holding down a Ctrl- key while you click the X-box to close
the window. If that doesn't help set the folder the way you want it,
then open the Folder Options dialog and use the Apply to All Folders
button on the View tab. (You may need to press the Reset All Folders
button first to activate that button.)

Note: those are the button labels that I am seeing under XPsp1.
Use your online Help for more details. Press Win-F1 and enter:
"Reset All Folders"

This article may help also:
<title>KB232743 - Cannot Apply Folder Customization Globally</title>

(MSKB Boolean search for:
"Folder Options" AND Reset AND kbwin2000search
)

PLEASE HELP! I would do a reinstall or repair or uninstall
but I can't even get to the Add/Remove to do that!
