I just got my Hp 1210v 3-in-1 scanner, printer, copier. And I'm currently using a Windows Xp Home Edition. The problem was, through the process of installing the new 3-in-1; it asked for my Xp home edition window cd, to be able to install. So I pressed "cancel" because I lost my cd. And pursuit to the next level of installing the product. It worked smoothly, 'till after the installation, when I tried using scanner; it didn't worked. And there's an Error that popped out after. Then I found out later on about this "hotfix" thing, I know nothing about it or my computer stuff, to be honest here. So I was just wondering if anyone could lend me a hand and somehow fix my problem. And for the record, the copier and the printer is working greatly. The only problem is the scanner. Thank you in advance.

You'll find you need the WinXP disk for many things, if you've lost it you
NEED a new one.
IF OEM copy contact yr pc supplier, if retail copy see MS site for obtaining
a new one
You cannot use a 'friends' disk.
It requested the XP disk as it was neccessary to install further features.
You dont have it so no scanner.

Well, I dont know anything about what you just wrote on here for the solution. But, if that's the only way I could possible get it to work, then I'll do it. And one more thing about it, I don't know how to get or how to go to the store and ask for a product that I need.
