I am unable to read any diskettes I place in the drive.
It reads, or I think it does, then says the disk in drive
A is not formatted.Yes or No is the questions it asks. I
tried opening it from Control Panel and Windows Explorer.
Same results............ any clues ??? Device Manager
says the device is working properly. HELP

Jim,

Honestly, most floppy read errors like these are primarily caused by a bad
floppy disk or a bad floppy disk drive. Try another floppy or three that is
known to work. If this does not work, try the floppy disk in another
computer. If this fails, it is your floppy disk. If the floppy disk is
readable in another computer, then it points to your floppy disk drive. In
either case a cheap repair/replacement.
