2wire311 setup

Trying to install 2wire311 wireless card on Dell Inspiron using Windows XP.

Acknowledges existence of base nearby. Rarely connects correctly for 30
seconds or so. Usually on clicking connect, get trying to connect for
several minutes, which disappears, and still not connected. Sometimes will
get prompt for key; sometimes not. When entering the key via properties of
wireless, it doesn't take. Another unkown 8 character key remains despite
entering the 10 character key for the 2WIRE311 base.

Working with AT&T for 2 hours and 2WIRE for about the same time without
resolution.

Any suggestions?
