This is my second attempt to get a helpful reply.

At home, I've recently installed DSL through Verizon including a Linksys
Wireless Router and Wireless Network Adapter for a second computer.

After some initial setup problems, everything now seems to be working fine
except for one odd glitch.

Referring to the computer using the Wireless Network Adapter, everytime I
bootup there is no Internet connection, but everytime I then immediately
reboot, the Internet connection is available. This procedure always has to
be gone through: initial bootup, no connection; immediate reboot, a
connection.

Verizon told me it's a Linksys problem. Linksys tech worked with me but
found no way to insure Internet connection on initial bootup; then said it
must be a Windows problem.

So here I am. Can anyone help me insure an Internet connection on first
bootup.

Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

The behavior that you describe is abnormal. I don't think that it's
caused by a Windows problem.

Try downloading and installing the latest driver program for the
wireless network adapter. Try downloading and installing the latest
firmware for the router.

If those steps don't solve the problem, try this Instead of rebooting:
disable and then enable the wireless network connection.

I've had so much trouble with Linksys network adapters, wired and
wireless, that I no longer buy them for myself or for my consulting
clients.
