Did you create a FAT32 partition on the second drive? With both XP and Vista
the largest FAT32 partition you can create is 32 GB. Open the Disk
Management console (diskmgmt.msc) and see what partitions are on the drive.
If you want one large partition then delete the current partition and create
one NTFS partition that uses the whole drive.

The second drive is either mismarked as to model number, there is
unallocated space (most likely, and due to YOU creating a fat32 partition
which will be only 32 gig - by default) or the drive is defective.

Convert the partition on the 2nd drive to an NTFS partition and then expand
it to encompass the entire drive.

hi no. did not do any partition. just a straightfull format (ntfs) yet if i
change to primary master it is full size. could this be because it is primary
master as dvd-rom is secondary master.

What size does it show in diskmgmt.msc? Does the BIOS recognise the full
size of the drive?
