Recently purchased Windows XP update for Windows98.
Installed and registered on 1st computer. Can I install
on 2nd computer not connected to internet and run without
re-registering?

For about 30 days, then it will require activation before you can continue
to use it. If you can afford 2 puters, you surely can afford 2 OS's.

bullcrap-it is no reason why a person has to pay $199.
for another windows app. when you have 2 computers in
your own home. People do have children.

I completely understand your feelings. Still, it is illegal. Wish there was
a better answer.

Greetings --

Yes, people do have children. And they should set a good example
for those children by not pirating software.

Greetings --

As it has *always* been with *all* Microsoft operating systems,
it's necessary (to be in compliance with both the EULA and copyright
laws, if not technically) to purchase one WinXP license for each
computer on which it is installed. The only way in which WinXP
licensing differs from that of earlier versions of Windows is that
Microsoft has finally added a copy protection and anti-theft
mechanism, Product Activation, to prevent (or at least make more
difficult) the sort of multiple installations you're asking about.
