I have a LAN of 9 x '98 machines running off a server
(2003). I've never done a roll-out install and would like
to know how to upgrade the '98 machines via the server to
2K. How is this done please?

Since you are NOT using SMS and want to do an UPGRADE from
the Win2003 the only real method is to copy the I386 directory from
the CD-ROM to the server, share that location, and use the existing
network connection on the Clients to map that share and run WinNT32.

You might wish to consider learning a bit about Answer files (and using
SetupMgr.exe from the Server CD to create such). With only 9 machines
you could just answer the questions 9 times....
 
One other thing, you will be happier if you upgrade the workstations
to XP (rather than Win2000.)
