I just checked HP for the latest driver for my new DeskJet 5650 that I received
today and it is 29.7MB . Are they for real ? I am going to take it back and get
an Epson . This pos prints out a test pattern automatically after it prints out
my document. This has to be a defective printer.

Consider using the corporate driver instead. The Home driver usually
includes all sorts of CPU and memory wasting junk.

I think these printer drivers are written in "high-level" languages these days so they are graphically "pretty" and easy for programmers graduated from assoiate degree colleges. I also think we are working too hard to accomodate Gucci http://www.gucci.com rather than Gibson (http://www.grc.com).

Who in their right mind would WANT to accommodate a self-promoting,
over-hyped, misleading twit like Gibson?

That overhyped, misleading twit's software SPINRITE saved my bacon and my data
many times in the past. So did his ZIP and JAZ cart testing tool called TIP.
He also is one of the reasons many started a class action lawsuit years ago
against IOMEGA to get restitution for faulty zip and jaz drives suffering a
well know problem called the click of death.

Isnt that the idea of having a website and running a business, to self promote
your shit?

You can believe whatever you wish...but you'll never convince me that
Gibson has any original ideas or real insight into technology.

I'm not knocking his ability to sell...he's another Gates. He's very
good at taking other peoples ideas and putting them into use for
himself.

Read some of his ridiculous dribble and tell me you still think the same
way...
