Hello,
We had to connect to a local ISP that is using a stange method of connection
for its clients. Anyway, TCP/IP parameters are assigned by their DHCP. Our
PC was assigned a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255
Can anyone pls tell me how is it possible for soch an address to be
assigned?
I'll be gratefull for any response.
Thanx
Eazzy

Thanx for your reply, though i'm still not entirely satisfied. For example
in Windows it is impossible to assign a subnet of 255.255.255.255

yep you can assign that subnet but
you have 256 subnets with only one host per subnet

Subnet Mask Subnet Size Host Range Broadcast
192.168.0.0 255.255.255.255 1 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.0 192.168.0.0
192.168.0.1 255.255.255.255 1 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1
...
...
...

192.168.0.254 255.255.255.255 1 192.168.0.254 to 192.168.0.254
192.168.0.254
192.168.0.255 255.255.255.255 1 192.168.0.255 to 192.168.0.255
192.168.0.255
