24bit colors ? on PocketPC ?

I have a custom control which display a 24bit color bitmap.
while the bitmap has smooth color gradient on the desktop it is blotchy on
the PPC.

Any idea of how to overcame this and have smooth color gradient once again ?

Try saving bitmap on the desktop as 16bit

I was too hasty...
didn't work in fact (although I try 8bit bitmap ....)
