My recollection is that PP 2003 will adjust fonts on a layout to fit the text
in the slide. That doesn't seem to work in 2007. What am I missing?

Any help appreciated.

Jerry, do you mean Office/Powerpoint-Options/Proofing/Auto-correct
Options/AutoFormat As You Type" and there the options "Autofit title text in
placeholder" and "...body text..."? That would fit the text to the
placeholders of a slide.

Pia, thanks for the prompt reply. That wasn't the answer, but it did lead to
the solution. The options you suggested were already in place.

What worked was go to Office/Powerpoint//View/Slide Master. Then select the
slide with the desired layout, select the text box in the slide, right mouse,
Format Shape, Textbox and choose Shrink Text on Overflow.

One has to repeat that for each text box of each layout where the resizing
of text is desired.

One could also do this in Normal View by selecting the text box and then
making the choices above.

Ah, that's the second place for fitting text. I wasn't sure what are looking
for. Great, that you figured it out.
