In continuing my exploration of PPT2007 (60 day trial), I cannot find
a command for "insert slide(s) from file". Have I missed something
obvious, or is this another thing that has disappeared?

Thanks,

Thanks Rae

I didn't notice that at the bottom of the menu before. A slight change
in the name of the function; enough to fool me. However, now I don't
see a way to select only a range of slides, it's either the current
one highlighted or all of them.

Thanks,

You are correct on a number of fronts, Villem. The function is not easy to
find, and it's not flexible at all to use. Whoever at Microsoft designed the
"reuse slides" feature obviously didn't actually talk to (m)any PPT users.

If you drag the edge of the Reuse Slides pane, you can see more columns of
slide thumbnails (depending on what screen settings you're running Windows
at. I'm using 1152x864 here, and I can get 2 columns). If you undock the
pane, you can make it even wider and so see more thumbnails. (I can get 3
columns here.) Clicking a thumbnail actually inserts it, so there's no way
to use Shift or Ctrl to select specific slides. It's incredibly annoying.

I anticipate these* becoming FAQs.

*Where is Insert Slides from File? and How do I insert more than one slide
at a time (but not all the slides)?

Hi Echo

I suspect what will become a popular FAQ is something along the lines
of which functions and commands have become something else, and why
doesn't help help?

Thanks,

Villem

Hi Echo

Also just realised, might these become material for your next
annoyances book?

Regards,
Villem

:-) You are correct, sir. Unfortunately, there aren't any good fixes or
workarounds for these particular annoyances!
