2003 won't open file

Powerpoint 2003 will not open a powerpoint document, but
Powerpoint 2002 will. That sounds backwards to me. Why
wouldn't the newer version work where the older version
does?

You need to go to Help--> Check for updates. My guess is that you are
running into a problem that was fixed with a download almost as soon as 2003
was released.

It sounds like there's a good chance that you are running into a known
problem which is addressed by installing the critical update for Office
2003. You can locate and install the appropriate critical update by
choosing the "Check for Updates" command from the "Help" menu when you are
connected to the internet.
