Does BCM 2007 offer any "killer" features over 2003? It seems to me this
program is a stepchild. Thanks for any input.

I was at CES - where they had Outlook 2007 with BCM booths yet they weren't
familiar with BCM - actually they weren't even that knowledgeable about
Oultook! I pleaded with them to consider making BCM sync with Exchange so
that it could be retrieved through OWA and OMA and their response was - Are
you sure it doesn't? AUGHHHH!!! I said if you could show me that it does I
would be impressed. After searching for this for about 20 minutes she
said - hmm - you'd think it would - it doesn't seem to serve much purpose
without it! I'll ask one of our BCM guys to find out. Had a very similar
experience with their Business group outside - they said they work with the
exchange group and would get back to me. I know you'll be shocked to find
out that no one has gotten back to me on this yet.

Can you spell "stepchild"?

The "Killer" feature of BCM will be your patience each time you discover
another one of its built in limitations beneath the pretty interface.

Hello Boe,

I am sorry to hear about your experience at CES. I will try to help you on
any BCM related question you might have. For your Exchange question,
current version of BCM doesn't sync with Exchange. BCM stores data in a
seperate SQL Express database. This data can be shared by multiple users
within the organization. BCM for Outlook 2007 allows taking the data Offline
and provide an automatic sync when connection to server is available to
provide a roaming experince.

Please let me know if I you need any further information about BCM.

Hi Mukesh,
To repeat Mariann's question, does BCM 2007 offer any "killer" features over
2003? Thanks for your thoughts.

It depends on how you do business and if BCM v2 didn't work with your
business processes.

The new Projects should solve various issues people have complained
about earlier, in Contacts can be linked to multiple Projects.

Let's say you build houses, and hire contractors build parts of the
houses. One natural approach is to make the house Accounts and the
contractors Business Contacts, and assign a contractor to the house
they are working on. But when you need to assign the contractor to a
second house, BCM won't allow you to link a Business Contact to more
than one Account--BCM considers a Business Contact to be a person
working for a company (Account).

In v3, you can have the projects represent houses, and you can assign
contractors/Business Contacts to multiple houses/Projects.
