Not sure if I'm in the best place for my question, but I'll try here anyways
and hopefully someone can assist me.
I currently have a Windows 2003 server running TS and another 2003 server
running TS licensing. Before I began working on this network, the company
had 40 per device CALs for TS. I contacted Microsoft to reissue the licenses
because many were expired and not releasing, non-existent and couldn't track
down, etc. The Microsoft representative with TS licensing that I spoke with
said they were able to reissue the licenses as per user so I agreed this is
the best way to go. He reissued me per user licenses and now I have in TS
licensing 35 per device licenses and none available, and I also have 35 per
user licensing with ALL available. I have rebooted both computers to restart
all services and just curious why this is. Is there something else I might
should do to get the licenses to start issuing as per user rather than per
device? Have I caused irreversible harm by changing to per user like this?
Thank you for your assistance.
