This seems like a silly question but I'm not certain. If I bought a new
computer with Windows Vista and installed Office 2007, would my 2003
Powerpoint files work?

Yes, you should be able to open and edit them. But to keep the full
functionality of some of the new features you should save them in the new
pptx file format after editing. Persons still using an older version of PPT
will be able to open these, if they install the free compatibility pack.

Best regards,
Ute

Ute, I'm not familiar with this posting stuff, so perhaps I'm doing this
correctly by replying to you who seems like might know what I need to know:
When I installed PPT '07, it altered my PPT '03 files so that even my PPT '03
viewer won't play the presentations the way I set them up. Even when I try to
play an '03 presentation from my website (that hasn't been altered), '07
won't play them as I set them up. Why? And can I do anything about it? This
is extremely annoying. Thank You, (e-mail address removed)

Jarvis, sorry, but I do not know how to help you, if you just say they are
"altered". Which differences do you see? If the text is different, we will
find a text solution, if the images are different, we will have to find a
solution for that. But as 2003 presentations look just fine on my 2007
machine, there is no general solution I can offer you. Please describe
exactly, what is different in the two versions.

Did you follow my advice and install a printer? Did that change the look?

Best regards,
Ute
