Hello all--

In Windows 2000, there is a registry key that can be
set on domain
controllers to control when the PDC Emulator is
contacted to resolve
Password Conflicts, or Password Change Notification.
This is generally
set to control communication costs across weak WAN
links, etc.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;225511

Can anyone confirm this functionality in Windows Server
2003? I cannot
find a confirmation of this, and the article above
states that the
information applies to Windows 2000 Server only. --
Does anyone have any
experience with this, or can you give me any insight on
how to accomplish
the same task under Windows Server 2003?

Thanks!
John

Hi,

I forwarded this along to someone who can get in touch with the owner of the
KB article. I'll keep you posted.

The registry value does persist in Windows Server 2003, the article is
simply out of date.
